As part of ITV’s Crime and Punishment series, this revealing documentary focuses on the untold story of Britain’s two most infamous female criminals; Myra Hindley and Rose West – the only two women to ever receive life sentences.

Moors murderess Myra Hindley was considered the most wicked woman in Britain for killing five children in the 1960s, with her lover Ian Brady. West was found guilty of ten equally terrible murders, with her husband, Fred West, including killing her own daughter.

Sir Trevor McDonald shares the story of West and Hindley’s relationship and sheds light on their psychology and criminal behaviour while they were both incarcerated in HMP Durham, alongside Britain’s most serious female prisoners, including IRA terrorists, sex offenders, and arsonists.

With a host of exclusive contributors, including former Category A prisoners, the programme reveals how West and Hindley grew close in jail, bonding over their similar crimes, then had an affair, which cooled as they became rivals to be ‘prison royalty’.

The shortlist for the Broadcast Digital Awards has been announced. We are proud to see that some programmes that our editors have cut have been shortlisted.

Jesy Nelson: Odd One Out has been nominated in the Best Documentary Programme. Made by October Films for BBC 3 and edited by Charlie Hawryliw, the documentary follows Jesy Nelson, Little Mix singer as she opens up about the impact cyberbullies have had on her life.

Mark Pickles worked on Peggy Pictures’ Mimi on a Mission: Sex Ed for BBC iPlayer. Whether she’s taking a group of teens to Holland to explore sex education or opening up her front room for a virtual lockdown get-together, Mimi Missfit wants to get young people talking.

Gavin Ames and Connor Snedecor worked on Blindboy Undestroys the World made my Rumpus for BBC3. With a combination of investigative journalism, undercover filming, and jaw dropping stunts, satirist Blindboy is on a mission to undestroy our broken housing system.

We are so pleased to see that The World According to Jeff Goldblum has been nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Hosted Non-fiction Series or Special.

Paul Holland cut two eps of the first series, Jamie Williams cut one episode and Desiree Ivegbuna also worked on the series!

Through the prism of Jeff Goldblum’s always inquisitive and highly entertaining mind, nothing is as it seems. Each episode is centred around something we all love  like sneakers or ice cream as Jeff pulls the thread on these deceptively familiar objects and unravels a wonderful world of astonishing connections, fascinating science and history, amazing people, and a whole lot of surprising big ideas and insights.

72 Films for Amazon Prime

Amazon Prime Video have announced the release date for the new sports documentary series All or Nothing: Tottenham Hotspur 31^st August 2020.

Fans will be shown unprecedented behind-the-scenes footage documenting the downfall of Mauricio Pochettino, who was dismissed from the club in November 2019, and the swift arrival of Jose Mourinho. The highs and lows will be documented throughout, with a clear focus on Mourinho as the ringleader of the operation.

Editor Duncan Hill who worked on Eps 1, 7 and 8 said “It was a very challenging project with a huge amount of rushes to navigate but with a crazy, unprecedented season, there were some amazing diamonds to be found in the rough”.

All or Nothing: Tottenham Hotspur will be available on Amazon Prime Video in the UK from 31st August 2020. Three episodes will be released that day, with the remaining episodes to follow

Aidan Sansom edited the ‘Stane Street’ episode, he loved working with Rumpus and said it was a joy to make.

Six years ago, a local historian from County Galway in the Republic of Ireland, discovered that hundreds of babies and young children had died in a home for unmarried pregnant women, run by Roman Catholic nuns in her hometown of Tuam. Further research revealed that many of the babies had died of malnutrition and other forms of neglect. Angry survivors and relatives called for an investigation and concerned families began to ask questions about other homes run by the Church in Ireland and how many other babies had died in equally mysterious circumstances.

In 2015 the government announced it was setting up an official Commission of Investigation. The body was required to provide answers by 2018, but two years since its official publication date, the full report has still not been published. In its absence, the suspicion, frustration and anger of relatives have escalated, the once shameful secret of a single small rural town is developing into a national scandal which goes to the heart of the close relationship between successive Irish governments and the Catholic Church.

In two episodes edited by Charlie Hawryliw, Al Jazeera correspondent Laurence Lee investigates deeply disturbing allegations that both the Irish state and its religious orders were responsible for a systematic decades-long regime of institutional neglect and exploitation involving the death of thousands of children.

Both episodes are currently available on Al Jazeera as part of their People and Power series.

Series 1 of Bigger Bangs’ Landmark series Revolutions: The Ideas That Changed The World is now available on Netflix. The wonderful Matt Scragg edited the first three episodes ‘The Car’, ‘The Rocket’ and ‘The Smartphone’.

The series tells the amazing story of the incredible breakthroughs that led to six iconic objects that define the modern world and each episode takes viewers on a global journey of discovery and uncovers thousands of years of innovation. It combines expert investigation with innovative drama techniques, shot almost entirely using virtual sets. At times, it allows the experts to witness those pivotal events first hand.  Matt edited all 6 episodes which were originally broadcast on PBS and BBC Four and are now being shown on Netflix. Good work Matt!
