Exec Producer: Charlotte Smith
Betty TV for ITV1
Editors: Paul Bussey Ep1 ‘Austria’ & Sean Schmolz Ep2 ‘Croatia’
This new two-part travelogue takes Gino D‘Acampo and Fred Sirieix to Austria and Croatia to see the pair attempting to be as eco-friendly as possible, eating vegan food, using green transport, and finding out about the impact of meat production and climate change.
In episode 1, edited by Paul Bussey, the friends explore the stunning Zillertal Alps in Western Austria, where beautiful but melting glaciers highlight the impact of climate change. They try vegetarian goulash, with Gino vowing to introduce meat-free Mondays across his restaurants. Rowing through the vast Hintertux Glacier and dancing the traditional Schuhplattler in Innsbruck, they immerse themselves in Austrian culture before heading to Vienna.
Episode 2, cut by Sean Schmolz, sees the duo head to Croatia where they are shocked by the ‘over-tourism’ in Dubrovnik and road-test the country’s answer to sustainable travel in the form of agrotourism before crossing the Adriatic for an off-grid adventure.
Gino and Fred: Emission Impossible has two episodes, the first will air on ITV1 at 9pm on Monday, December 16 with the second airing on Tuesday, December 17 also at 9pm.
